Word on the street is Ronnie Feist recently got a redshirt for 2013. So he has another year.

Did you want Jared Foster to be our backup QB?

Does it matter? Miles refused to even look at anyone else.

All teams play a few guys early at the end of games that end up being red shirts. The strict rule is if you play a snap you have played that year, but exceptions are made on injuries. Clearly many of these players weren't injured and still get a red shirt. If the teams aren't abusing the rule, the red shirt is granted. At least that is my understanding.

You do in fact lose the "general" or "academic" redshirt with participation in a single down. The medical redshirt can be applied until the player participates in 20% of the games, at which point no redshirt is applicable. So generally speaking, as others stated accurately, a kid can play in 2 games of the 12 game schedule and still claim the medical redshirt. This is a common practice and yes, it's normally a bending of the rules since most of the time, the kid isn't injured badly enough to miss the subsequent games. I have read somewhere that the NCAA redshirt regulations are due to change in 2016, but not sure to what extent.

CG saw a little time in two game

Wonder if they leveraged a concussion for something for him to not use eligibility

Battle may have had an injury as well that allowed him to take a redshirt, as he play a little earlier this year as well
