If I see a service member in uniform in the "ticket line", I'll help him or her out for free.

Okay, for three of the tickets I got last year, none of them had the VIN. Don't know where the others are to check. They normally just write down your plate #
damn, how fast do you usually drive?
and why haven't you invested in a high end radar detector? could really pay off for you.

Well I was charted for an offense that didn't fit the alleged offense---
So which one was it? I think that's a fair question to ask.
And honestly, I did not go 18 mph over the speed limit. Max was 9-10 mph.

Ive gotten two speeding tickets, neither time did the cop write down my VIN number and the one that was on the interstate was the same general description I59 southbound near exit such and such (fricking sneaky motorcycle cop hiding on the exit ). But whatever I was going 77 in a 60, he got me. I just paid it and moved on with my life.

You said he wrote the wrong charge.
What statute did he write on the citation?

I say take it to trial. It is the officer in the plane who is accusing you of speeding, not the officer who wrote the ticket.
I have wondered if the officer from the plane would be in court too.
Please post how this gets resolved.

Good gracious.
Either pay the ticket or go to the court house and speak to the prosecutor. 99.9% of the time they will work with you.
It's just a ticket. It will be ok

I can't help with the acronym VASCAR, not sure I ever knew what it meant. Several departments around here use VASCAR, we don't have it in our cars as of yet. We use Robic Accu-Trak Self-calculating Watches and "speed lines" painted on the street. Basically the lines are a set distance apart, ours are 120', and we start the watch when the vehicle crosses the first line and stop it when it crosses the second. The watch then gives us the speed in mph and the time it took the target vehicle to cover the 120'. Time over distance...very simple.
This is great, so they just get a little lazy on the start click, and quick on the second click, and boom, you are speeding.

exactly what I was thinking. Considering how much of sticklers they are when giving speeding tickets!
school zone:24 mph in a 20= no ticket but 25 mph in a 20= you owe us at least $100

No. Lots of tickets have lots of inaccuracies. That doesn't mean they are dismissable.
