Les Miles has always tried to play keep away from the other team. Long methodical drives that eat up clock limit your opponent's scoring opportunities.
It is the exact opposite philosophy of Malzahn who tries to extend games by running so many plays. He effectively tries to have a 5th quarter by way of play count.
If Harris is effective, I think it tips the balance in favor of LSU.

Well, bumping this threat to admit I was wrong about the offense's ability to convert third downs against Auburn and the once again impress the necessity for this to happen moving forward in order for us to even break even in the win/loss column.
As we sit here today, LSU is 0-2 in SEC play for the first time in 15 years.
Through these two games, LSU has a COMBINED TWO CONVERSIONS on Third Down. TWO!!!
LSU converted ZERO third downs against Auburn.
That is ineptitude beyond reason...I cannot even wrap my mind around how inept that really is.
Unless that drastically changes, I don't see LSU winning another game this year. Sadly, heading into the Swamp this week, while Florida is pretty horrible offensively, they are in the top half of the league defensively. I am not convinced we are any better this week on third down than previous weeks.
