is your only metric wins and loses?

I'd say how bad you lose has a lot to do with it.
The last 2 games looked like the bad news bears.
We'll keep doing the same thing and so the expectations are not good.

NO.
That's the problem with the sunshine pumpers, all they d is quote Miles' overall record.
Losing with a young QB is one thing, but we have shown absolutely zero improvement so far this season and look woefully unprepared in all phases.

Winning percentages are meaningless w/o hardware to show for it.

It's by far the most important thing, but there are other things to consider, I supppse.

I would imagine the correlation between winning percentage and hardware are pretty high

It is a big part of it. And yes, winning is the bottom line.
But when losing, there are more things to consider. Like how competitive are we? What is the level of competition? Do we look prepared and are we getting better?
Many have seen these problems under the surface for a few years, but they were masked by Miles' record.
Now these long festering problems are undeniable to to all but the blindest Miles' apologists.

honestly not to me- I want LSU to win as much as the next fan, but it is pretty important to me how they represent the university. That representation generally has little to do with win or loss. At least to me anyway.
