Did anyone else notice they are "tracking" Darrell Williams this week and speak of him not becoming a starter "this season"...
LF is in the "other notables" at the bottom. Is it because Williams had 2 tds that they are tracking him instead of LF?

quote:
Darrel Williams, LSU What he did: Williams took the fewest carries of anyone in LSU’s four-man tailback rotation, but he scored twice -- once on a nifty fullback dive where he broke a tackle at the line of scrimmage and broke away for a 22-yard scoring run -- and again showed off a powerful running style. Williams finished the game against Louisiana-Monroe with seven carries for 37 yards and is now tied with senior Kenny Hilliard for the team lead in rushing touchdowns with three. What it means: Williams has been impressive in limited work in the Tigers’ last two nonconference games. While he won’t become LSU’s No. 1 running back this season, he has flashed some versatility by contributing at both tailback and fullback. He and Hilliard took the bulk of LSU’s short-yardage carries against ULM, so Williams has clearly done enough to expect to see more of him once the Tigers open SEC play this weekend against Mississippi State. Other notables:
quote:
RB Leonard Fournette, LSU: Fournette ran 10 times for 52 yards, including a 24-yard touchdown, caught a 20-yard pass and returned the opening kickoff 40 yards in a win against Louisiana-Monroe.

Ofcourse, LF will win the Heisman in D1, D1A, DII, DIII, NAIA, and JUCO so they will let him in the NFL early.

People lauding Williams over LF prove that they are just boxscore junkies. Williams is behind LF in every stat except TDs and that is because he is a TD vulture from 1 yd out.

Either I'm missing sarcasm or you are contradicting yourself here.

Haha, i did, didnt i? Whoops. Well i meant that the only category that DW is leading in is TDs and thats a worthless stat as 2 of them have been 1 yarders.

Why does anyone have a problem with this? They're both Tigers and they both got mentioned. Williams has looked fantastic toting the rock.

Who has a problem with it? Im glad both are doing well. But there are people who say they have been more impressed with Williams than LF, which is dumb.

Actually, according to Tiger insiders it's because the coaches punished LF in the SHSU game for the Heisman pose. Hilliard as much as said so in a post-game interview as well. He and Williams were given T.D. carries in what were LF series'.
