JJ Watt gets 6yr/$100 mil ext...what does it mean for Cam?

With Watt getting that kind of contract, is there any way we sign Cam to a long-term deal? I know he's not quite JJ Watt, but that won't matter when it comes time to deal. The price just went up

Cam is not nearly as good as Watt so we wont have to worry about dishing out that kind of money, thank the lord.

He was right behind him last year statistically...not saying he's gonna get 100 mil, but it's going to be pretty monstrous in its own right

I hope it means Cam goes off this year, leads the league in sacks and takes us to the Super Bowl. Hopefully we can pay accordingly.

That's my point. We all know that right now it's JJ Watt and then everybody else. I'm not saying Cam will get 100 mil, but people are being naive is they don't think Cam's price tag just increased. If he has another 12-14 sack season....it's gonng be tough to keep him. Even with a franchise tag

Cam will go off and be the top DE this season with 18 sacks now.

JJ Watt was far away the best 3-4DE in the league. His PFF scores were I think 5+ in both run and pass defense compared to the 2nd highest rated 3-4DE.

He won't get Watt money, but no doubt his agent has a big smile on his face after seeing that contract esepcially if Cam has another double digit sack season and a probowl under his belt.

It'll be interesting to see how it works out, the next guy is almost always trying to top the last guy's contract. No one is going to argue that Flacco and Ryan are better than Brees, but they got a bigger contract than he did. I do realize that may not be a fair comparison though, being the Flacco came off a SB win, and the Falcons are idiots.
I'm sure the Saints will try to use Watt's deal as a ceiling, but hopefully Cam's negotiation won't drag out like Drew and Jimmy's did.

Cam Jordan is probably the second or third best 3-4 end in the league but the gap between Watt and Cam is still very very huge.
