An Extremely Valuable Win

Yes, LSU looked sluggish in the first half. That happens when (i) you have new players at lots of key positions, (ii) it's the first game of the season and (iii) your opponent is legit. But over 60 minutes the quality and confidence surfaced. Sure,
there's still work to be done, but
down the road the experience of
pulling out this tough win against
a good team will pay big
dividends. Much more so than a
scrimmage against The Little Sisters of the Poor.

I think the old cliché "a team improves more between game one and game two" will be very true with this young Tiger team. Like coach Miles said, it will be more fun correcting mistakes after a win than a loss.

Well, in terms of recruiting, what team anywhere allows their first year recruits to play as much/often as LSU? A few weeks ago some of those guys were at their senior prom. whatever happened with the Godchaux LOI story, true or false, it sure was nice to have him in P & G. You just never which recruit will stand out first game.
