Someone in the game thread said that Wisconsin players on the sideline jumped into the pile to fight for the ball. Is that true?

no, a player from the sidelines definitely jumped on the pile

the Wisconsin coaches yanked him off and yelled at him pretty hard

watch for #50 with no helmet coming in from the sidelines entering the pile on the field

they had 2 more players who did the same thing. it was ridiculous. the refs had no control and weren't paying attention to the sideline

Next time you watch the replay, look at the Wisconsin defender's foot, it was out of bounds. I'm not sure if they had already gained possession or not, but his foot hits the sidelines.

It was clear as day it was an incomplete pass. He never had full possession of the ball.

Just showed it on ESPNU.

A player from Wiskys bench def was on the field and tried pulling players off the like. He didn't even have a helmet on. And other players from the sideline went on the field and were around the pile.

There was the replay just now on ESPNU. It looked like the defender's foot did tap out of bounds. It was also clear that no Badger from the sideline jumped on the pile. There were 3 guys that came off the sideline standing next to the pile, pointing and pulling people a bit, but none of them actually jumped into the pile.

If you are talking about Whisky's #59 he isn't even near the pile. He's on the sideline pointing to the pile. His coach DID push him back, but clearly he was NEVER on the field. As the the fumble; clearly a good call by the refs.

yes, true. His coach pulled him back before he was on the pile for too lone. ETA maybe not on the pile but trying to get involved in the scrum for the ball.

It was #50, not #59. #50 was on the sideline with no helmet and went on the field and got involved in the pile.

Came off the bench and got involved in the pile with no helmet on and right in front of the refs.

By the way, #59 Trotter for Wisky was all over the field for them. He's a player.

I saw one of theirs get pulled off the pile and step backwards to be on the sideline getting yelled at. I did not see if he originated on the field or not.

By his and the coaches actions I am lead to believe he might not have been on the field before the play.

I don't think it mattered, BC it wa a clear fumble and recovery.

But one of them did try to come off the sideline, and was immediately yanked away by one of the coaches. The people I was watching with were commenting that it was a blatant horse collar
