Miles lost a good one in pocket-steady Zach Mettenberger, and must now decide between sophomores Anthony Jennings and Brandon Harris.
Here's guessing the bake-off winner will be good.
the writer has some good points about the state of the program, but it's funny when he just admits he couldn't know less about either QB

that was great, thanks for the link. i especially like the opening line:
it took 10 years, but the national media is finally starting to realize how good Miles is.
quote:
Les Miles has the makings of another terrific team this year ... in the National Football League.

When I first read that line I mistakenly thought the writer was claiming LSU could compete in the NFL. Upon reading the article I caught on that it was a reference to all the early departures.

I don’t believe anyone ever doubted his ability to recruit players to LSU. Its always been game management issues that caught the attention of the talking heads. But screw it, I like Les.

kinda sorta love this quote
quote:
"I have thought about my first touchdown a thousand times," Fournette said at LSU's team media day in early August. "Seeing the crowd cheer for your first touchdown, it is exciting. Hopefully, it will be in the first game."

If recruiting was all there was to it then USCw and Notre Dame would have over a dozen national championships. Individuals have to develop them at the college level which takes great coaching; LSU is the best at preparing players for the NFL because the numbers say they're the best. Keenan Lewis could have been talking about Les Miles' years at LSU when he said this Jay Z guote today: Men lie. Women lie. Numbers don't lie.

Wait a minute! This has to be a satirical column. Everyone knows that the national media has ZERO respect for the LSU program. 10 wins? Outstanding talent? Elimination game with Alabama? Where does this hack get off mocking LSU fans with such phony superlatives. Just another national guy giving LSU "no respect". Hopefully the team can use this "slap in the face column" as motivation. LA Times...what a joke!

The defense has taken a lot of early departure hits, but is led by one of the nation's best coordinators in John Chavis.
They even mocked our "average" coordinator!

The trick for LSU is trying to change on the fly in the SEC West, where it resides with ever-present Alabama, Auburn and now an emerging Mississippi.

Don't be shocked if the Nov. 8 meeting against Alabama, in Baton Rouge, becomes an elimination game for the four-team playoff.

Is he saying both LSU and bama will have one loss going into that game?
I know that's not what he is saying.

Nice read! Amazing how you can lose so much production and need true freshman at skilled positions to step in and yet LSU has a good ranking going into the season - with QB situation unknown. Like Miles says "I like our chances." Geaux Tigers!
