In seeing the comments about Carrabas below, I want to point out a restaurant doing the exact opposite.

This place is very reasonable; prices are between $8 and $20 for just about any entree...and the kicker is that they don't just give you a doggie bag..but every entree you purchase allows you a SECOND entree for free to take home.

if you're ever in nashville, check it out. i haven't been to this in other cities.

And secondly, its good you're still here. After they took down your "Hanging Sheets from Overpasses" pic yesterday... I thought you were a goner for sure!

there is one in Houston and we do it for big outings and do the family dinner. I didnt realize it was a chain. They just keep bringing the food out.

Wait what? I didn't go back to that thread after posting my zinger... Didn't realize I stirred anyone up.

I've eaten at their San Antonio (RIM location off I-10) and Chicago.

Both meals were good. Not spectacular, but good. And I would go back, because their service was great.

So Maggianos is Franklins? They got a commercial with Nobu? I don't think so.

I like this place, it's a solid, consistent red sauce Italian joint. And they frequently pour decent Italian wines by the glass.

Yes.

Maggiano's IS Franklin's.
That's exactly the proper way to interpret my statement.
Excellent job.

I came here to tell the world to try Franklin's gnocchi and Maggiano's brisket. You figured it out.

Ridiculous.

i might be going to the one in river north chicago because i got a coupon. i've only been once before and it was very underwhelming. thought it tasted like grocery store pasta and frozen chicken. but i was in a group and we got that group feed me deal, which was still about 30 a person.

is there an entree that i can get off the a la carte menu that makes this place good? if you liked that feed me deal, please don't bother responding because that food was not worth any money.

no lie, if you served me the maggiano's lasagna and chicken piccata along side the same frozen entrees they sell at sam's, i wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

i'd honestly prefer carrabas or macaroni grill, but i have a free coupon here and it's within walking distance, so i figured why not. but if there's nothing on the reg menu that's different from the feed me menu, might give the coupon away.

Been to the one in Houston once. I was not blown away. The Marsala wine sauce was thin and watery. Carrabas' is better and , frankly, so is mine.

Maggiano's, Buca, and Carrabas honestly are all about the same to me. If you have access to all three, look for which ever one has the better special running on the night you want to go!

I will say they are all several cuts above the Olive Garden.
