Will do, going to look into this.
ETA, does it make your house smell freaking awesome or burnt?

quote:how do you like the freshroast? I had a Behmor 1600 for a while and finally just gave it away... Hated the lack of control and not really able to profile. I did get some tasty coffee from it though, just lacked the consistency that I wanted.

I love the smell.. I roast on my stove with the vent on.. My email is fightingtigerslsu@gmail.com
I'd be glad hook anyone up with free greens.. Sometimes I get carried away with my green coffee ordering

The only troubles I've had is the random wild hair I get to make a small batch of dark (or extra dark) roast. I've scorched a couple of batches. If I use roughly the same amount as I normally do, and punch in ~7 minutes (usually a little shorter) crank the temp and fan to high, I love the results. I get a medium roast with just enough roasty flavor and a full profile of the bean. It seems fairly fool proof. (extra dark being the exception)

I am drinking a Sumatra right now that I wish I had bought more of. I'll have to check in the morning and see the specific name on it. I could drink this one for a while without getting bored.

I can't get into Sumatra for some reason.. I have quite a few lbs that will go to waste.. I gravitate to the African coffees for the most part but still enjoy other origins.. Bird Rock coffee roasters has a 96 score Sumatra that is apparently the highest ever scoring Sumatran.. I want to give that a go for sure

I know the guys at Cafeciteaux Coffee in BR
Nice guys and care about their beans. They make good coffee too. I am not sure what all their business practices are, but I bet they will help those in search of answers or product.

I ran my HotTop all afternoon yesterday and about to crank it back up this morning. I get my beans from SM's exclusively but have been thinking about some new sources. Thanks for posting good links to them. The one thing I've never done with my HotTop is create custom roast profiles...and that's what it's all about. Any suggestions on good sources where others have posted custom profiles for different beans?

I mainly camp out out home-barista roasting forum.. Did you install bt and Et probes?
ETA:
Site with profiles for different beans
Home Roasting
The single best mod on my hottop are the probes...I also use Amprobe logger in conjunction with the probes and free artisan software to profile...Works great!!
Here are a couple of profiles that I did a few weeks ago... profile1 and profile2
You can't go wrong with SM's...Burman Coffee..Happy Mug...Bodhi Leaf...I'd recommend each and every one of those suppliers.
