Having a hard time interpreting the motivations for all these comments. The birthday "disrespect" comments were just strange, even if his agent was angling for a move or more money.

Actually YAYA does have a case for player of the year. His goal total was insane for a midfielder and he was easy the most consistent player through out the season. Suarez cooled off while YAYA was pretty stream lined the whole time.

He should have come in 2nd behind Suarez. And he's better than the 12th best player in the world. But claiming race is so lame.
