so apparently the guys from Hueys are involved, but didn't buy the building. Rolling out some new venue/bar soon i guess.

some notable beatnik shows: The Donkeys, Marissa Nadler, O'Death, Charlie Parr, Cory Branan, Shonen Kife, Rural Alberta Advantage, Empire! Empire!, Bishop Allen and adding them daily.

There was some rooting around before we took M+W out, so I am not surprised. Buying the building and partnering with L Bar are two different animals.

my guess a steady diet of what Huey's has to offer currently, but with the patio setting i designed and envisioned. My understanding is they are knocking out the wall behind the stage and opening it up. An idea we toyed with for stage II. With some money and proper management behind the business it will be a nice option for downtown visitors. As far as the calendar, i cannot imagine the Moon/Chelsea's/Varsity will be threatened with much competition for quality national acts.

yeh .... probably make a run at whatever Happy's does music wise outside. I wish them well and I am glad someone decent is using the space i designed and built.

I am in Atlanta until the end of the year on the new Vacation movie, but my guys are on the ground looking for a new spot for M+W.
