Suggestions for Recycling or Repurposing Old Hardware

I have between 4-5 Xboxs and Xbox 360s that have experienced some failure in their lifetime. For example, the red ring of death. I really do not care to bring them back to life unless someone has a suggestion that makes too much sense to get them working again. I am looking more towards some suggestions for disposing of the devices in a safe manner or dismantling and selling the parts via Ebay, craigslist, etc...
