Very interesting read from MMQB.
TL;DR version: Russell Allen was an undrafted free agent out of San Diego State. For the next 5 years he worked his way up in Jacksonville. On a fairly routine play he thought, he collided with the center. He was dizzy and had blurry vision but played through it.
Woke up the next morning and still felt bad. Jaguars gave him an MRI, and it turned out he had a stroke during the play. A small part of his brain is going to be inactive forever. He was officially cut recently although the Jaguars seemed to have handled it very well.
He seems to have made a good recovery but still has trouble gripping objects. Wow.

I read something last night that he was having double vision as well. I don't have the link for it.
It's terrifying, and I hope he will be okay.

It was probably a preliminary version of the article. He said that his agent got calls last week from 3 NFL teams asking if he was interested in playing.
No one knew about the severity of this besides the Jaguars.

Wow..that is unbelievable. Luckily he was able to come out of it alive. Hopefully he can get his health in check now so that he doesn't suffer any more strokes in his lifetime.

He was only 27 too. That sucks.
