The local credit union i belong to does 401K rollovers and I am wondering if there would be any benefit to using them instead of Vanguard. We are nearing retirement and rolling it out of the existing 401k, which is tied to a company that we no longer work at, is a necessity. I like the low cost of Vanguard and like the time-framed choices (5-year-to-retirement choices etc.), but also like the idea of using local businesses. Is there anyway the locals can compete with the low cost of Vanguard? and any other pros and cons.

There is no way I would let some dude in a credit union give me advice on my retirement accounts.

Go vanguard and pay cash for Financial Advising.
