Cleaning a deck - Sticky substance from wooly aphids

My back deck is covered with crap from these wooly aphids. They are gone from the trees now...but I still need to clean the deck.
Anyone have any experience with this? Should I just go with a brush and soapy water?

Sounds kinky.
Seriously though deck hygiene is very important. You should clean the sticky substance after every use to avoid build up. My wife refuses to use my deck if its too dirty.
