Ran battery dead today working on trailer lights like an idiot. Hooked battery charger up and It blew some fuses. Fixed all of them I think. Ran truck to let battery charged. Noticed it was blowing a little black smoke but then it stopped. Check engine light was on and the wrench symbol. Un hooked battery to reset it. Check engine light went off but wrench stayed. Truck is missing bad. Pegging out at 4200 rpm and spitting and sputtering bad. What do I need to do? 2004 5.4 liter 170,800 miles on it. Only thing besides normal maintance is I changed some coil packs

first, why did fuses blow?....did you hook up something incorrectly?....did you fix that problem?
the question that you are describing sounds like the main computer is fricked up to me, which could be due to the electrical shite that blew the fuses...

Wrench light is throttle control "limp mode". It could be anything from bad TB to bad TPS.
With that being said, those fuses blowing makes it sound like something electrical.
First thing you need to do is get the codes read.

But this board told us Fords rock and Chevys suck lol.
But seriously, I had many wiring issues with my 03 f150. Never resolved even by the dealership.
Wish I could help.

Double check all fuses.
Something was up w/ that battery charger.
Did you jump the truck off?

Sounds like either a bad coil pack, coincidence? ??
If not a bad PCM caused by shorting it out with the battery charger.

The battery also may be fubar. F150 computers don't like low voltage so check your battery for a bad cell or short.

It blew the fuses to the trailer. As soon as I hooked up the charger the headlights flashed on then off. I let the charger charge then started the truck cut lights on then it blew the fuses. Fuel gage wasn't working and check engine light was on. Unhooked battery after I let it charge and check engine light went off but wrench light came on. Truck is just lugging down bad. No power
