Anyone think I could train a boxer puppy to be a blood dog?

i raise boxers and want to have a blood dog for the future, but don't want to buy another dog. I know it's potential wouldn't be what a blood hound or another breed's might be, but If it is serviceable I'd take that.

Start pulling some deer hide for puppies and seeing if any have interest. If they do not you have no chance...

I got a heeler/border collie that drags up deer hides every week, so I don't see why a boxer wouldn't enjoy that as well.

I have a buddy that has a chihuahua for a blood dog. Anything is possible.
Now I never said he found any deer

Actually they can make very good blood dogs. I have seen a few of the years. When I was a kid, my dad would take my mom's chihuahua with him squirrel hunting in the pocket of his hunting coat. When he got somewhere that he thought had squirrels, he would put it down and it would tree.

Our boxers are constantly running trailing shite. Of course they never come back with anything

My male would be a good tracker. He can play hide and seek very well. We can never hide too long from him.
My female would be terrible. She goes after things like mfer, mfer, mfer, mfer, bark, bark, oh shite, oh shite, f this shite.

Get some deer blood and put decent size spot every few feet in a straight line for 25 ft with a piece of meat at the end for a week. Once he gets that down start magibg the blood trail curvy and longer. Then start mixing water with blood. Use less blood and gradually increase distance and water in blood mixture. Always with a treat at the end. When he really gets it down start putting through brush and call kinds of shite. My lab is solid blood dog. I think a boxer could handle it with the right training. I don't recommend using a deer hide during training. Many ppl do that but I want my dog trailing blood. I have plenty of blood if you need some.

Thats my female. Only during the f this shite, her nub of a tail is so far up her arse its not even funny. She does scare the shite out most people though, so they never she that what a puddin she really is.

People are afraid when she barks at them but usually they run when my 100 lb male comes around the corner.

I might have to take you up on that. Do you think I could start with my 8 month old puppy or would I have to start younger like a 3-6 month old?

I started mine at 10 weeks. No offense to the boxer breed but I think they may be a bit slower than a lab. Never hurts to try bc it takes such little effort and time. Do you live near or around hwy 444? If so, we live close to each other.

I've never been around a boxer that could focus on anything besides being obnoxious.

Let me know if you want blood. I live close to you.

Now I'm curious if I know you. Have you always lived here. I'd like to get a little to try my 8 month old on. If she shows no interest then I have a litter on the way in a couple months. I can keep a puppy and train it young.
