Leveling kit is fine from my experience. Lift kits are bad.
Good post. Getting a new Tacoma in a few months
and wanted to do a leveling kit or lift kit.
Why are lift kits not recommended?

Lift kits are not bad. They are bad if you can't afford to maintain one. Stock parts wear quicker. bearings, steering rack, breaks if you don't upgrade. If you can afford to maintain it you are good to go.

Anyway. I took it back. It just made me nervous.
But, I feel stupid now because this thread makes me feel better about it. TD.com never let's me down. Better to get opinions from real (more then your average intelligence) people on here. The internet is full of bullshite on both sides of every argument.
Anyway, my wife is about to kill me (yet again). I am redoing my dash and putting a kenwood double din DVD reciever with all the stuff. Already bought a garmin navigation after reading reviews about how much those units were vs the in dash nav from just about any brand. My old garmin was 10 years old, never had a problem.
Have the new door speakers, amp and a single subwoofer. Already bought a tonneau, re-tinted all my windows, visors, hood deflectors, seat covers etc. I am done after this. I would love to know if anyone has put a switch (or relay) to turn off the 12v power outlets. They stay on when the truck is off, which pisses me off. I have to unplug everything.
Like I said, she gonna kill me.
But I'm her husband AND her boss

Uh, do you live in a house or a mobile home? Just asking.

My 08 F150 has had one on it since 09. No problems. On my second set of tires, got about 45k out of some BFG ATs. Now I have about 25k on some Hankooks and thy have another 25-30 in them.

I like that they stay on
I can't stand the ones that go off with the ignition
I like to be able to charge my phone with the truck off
