99 yard drive sets tone for future greatness of LSU football

I'll get to my point in a few paragraphs so the tl/dr posters of the world I apologize. Just want to set the stage for my "RANT." Bare w me if you can..... Sitting in the stands on cold (south end zone in the shade) Friday afternoon watching the ball slowly settle on 1 yard line knowing Jennings was about to enter the game brought a smile to my face. I slowly texted my brother watching at home "Legacy's are made in these situations." His glass half-empty comment was expected "You're dreaming!" With 4 starters out and an unproven QB taking over I think he was more realistic than just being negative.
I was reminiscing from Michigan game against Minn. many years back when Bo was coaching the maize and blue and they were in the running for another national championship. Game was tied and the fans were screaming for Bo to call timeout and get the ball back w about a minute left and Minn. backed up on about the 5 yard line. There were no OT's at that time so a tie would have certainly dropped UofM from #1. After a timeout the QB for Minn. sends all receivers way down field and then he scrambles for 80 yards and Minn. kicks last second field goal and wins. Visions of Jennings taking off on scramble was all I could think of. 20 yard scramble was good enough for me. It was a thing of beauty that has been missing for a few seasons as well. I don't think I'm alone in this assessment.
So with the #1 recruiting ranking hanging in the balance (and it still is)and the psyche of the the LSU team as well - the football program took a huge boost on that one drive. They/Jennings showed the country that we have a true dual threat QB taking over the program that could get LSU back in the top echelon of college football for the next several years. That alone should/will get everyone's attention. Ala. brining in unproven QB for 2014 helps as well along w Saban shopping for a new program to bring back to national promise (i.e. Texas).
I hope I am right in suggesting that what we just saw against Ark. on that last drive was a QB ready to lead LSU to another national title - soon! I just hope Miles sees this and decides to rest Mett and let Jennings take over for the remainder of the holidays and the bowl game. It's in the best interest of Tiger football even if Mett can set the all-time record for an LSU QB on passing yards for a season. This is all about the team and getting ready for a great 2014 season!!!!! Geaux Tigers@!@!

They were in the running for several but never won a national championship under Bo.

More classic Rant overstatements. Pump the damn brakes man it was one drive.

Kennings throws the ball 85 yards in the air against the best defense in the country into extremely tight triple coverage. It was unreal.

Is this really a thing now? One post in one thread, and it's a thing?

Nevertheless, this is the stuff of legends - how many remember the famous 1 second play from Bert Jones to Brad Davis to beat Ole Miss in 1972. LSU was nationally ranked and heavily favored over the Rebs - LSU should not have been trailing!

Blocking , on that last drive made the difference . Where was the blocking before that drive ?? What happened was the team ujnderstood if they wanted a better bowl then they had to win , and stop day dreaming about the next game . As a team they got their mind set on winning . yes we have a good looking QB , who will have enough years to break all LSUI records , if he stays on the team , by that I mean not going pro.
