I agree that we need to find a way to remove bias against certain conferences...only problem is by including only the major conferences you are automatically biased against about 60-70 other schools

Take that 2008 Utah team you listed.

Here were the major conference champs from that year:

#1 OU - Big 12
#2 Florida - SEC
#5 USC - PAC-10
#8 Penn St - Big 10
#12 Cincinnati - Big East
#19 Virginia Tech - ACC

If you just use BCS rankings to determine the final 2, #3 Texas and #4 Bama are your "wildcards". #6 Utah, who went on to dominate Bama in the Sugar Bowl, are out.

I don't know...the more I think about it the more of a cluster it seems to be

so ridiculous to have current ADs

This. Besides the obvious issue of a lack of impartiality, the committee should be made up largely of people who have the ability to actually watch multiple football games each week. It's the same arse-backwards logic of using the coaches' poll to determine the BCS standings, when coaches don't have time on Saturdays to sit and watch other games. I think it should have been largely writers, analysts, etc. with a few former players and coaches, selected from different regions of the country.

That said, this will still be better than the current system, IMO.

Should have left it the way it was and just take the top 8 BCS teams and put them in a playoff.
