Why does my thread not get pushed to the top when updated?

I started a thread last week on the More Sports board to track Peyton Manning's awesome season throughout the year. My goal was to update it each week similar to the running thread on Les Miles's career stats on the Tiger Rant board. When I updated the original post in the thread just now to reflect Peyton's stats through tonight, the thread did not get pushed to the top of the More Sports board. Why would that be the case? It is not meant to flame or anything. I just want to keep track of Peyton's stats for the many fellow Peyton fans on the More Sports board.

I get that. I am asking why this happened.

If you just edit a post, it doesn't get bumped. Only new posts bump a thread to the top.

I agree there should be one consolidated Peyton fluff thread...right now they are dropping loads all over the MSB like a dump truck.
