Ron Higgins (NOLA.com) comments on Miss. State's large replay board...

The stadium seats just over 55,000 fans and the $6.1 million replay board is the largest true high definition board in the Southeastern Conference and the second largest nationally. The board measures 152 feet wide by 135 feet, 6 inches tall, with a main HD screen 111 feet wide by 47 feet high. Considering State has the second-smallest stadium in the SEC, it's like having a 100-inch big screen in a double-wide trailer.

Backhanded compliments are the best

It reminds me of a drive in movie screen.

The flip side of LSU's setup, going on 100,000 seating capacity but an embarrassingly small replay scoreboard, where finding the actual replay among the tacky ads is difficult at best.
It's like watching a 1950's black and white 12" screen from the back of the ballroom in your mansion.

It's to keep fans in the stands when they are losing badly?

This is what makes no sense . Why wouldn't Tiger Stadium have the best of the best? 3/4 of our screen is filled with ads. Find another way to make the sponsors happy, but get the fricking ads off of the screen

Once you study on it a little, you will realize that the LSU athletic dept. quits giving a frick about the fans once they have their ticket money. Because they know you'll get hungry, and they know you'll need something to drink once you get there. The A.D. is exactly like a car salesman. They suck your arse until you buy or don't buy, then they couldn't give 2 fricks about you after.

Half of the ads, in theory, will be gone after this season. Companies paid LSU for ads on both scoreboards through xYear, so they had to double up on the North score board. Would love to see a wrap around board between the East and West sides, but it will never be ready in time.
