2nd generation Glock 17.
I was hoping someone might have personal experience to give a review.
No rail on the frame, so I need something that will adapt.
Much obliged.

Probably cheaper to go find a used g3.

A laser that takes the place of the guide rod under the slide. Let me search and I will find it.

You're referring to a laser max and they are garbage.
Eta: lasers are pretty useless on pistols just get a WML and call it a day.

Yep, but that's his only option.
BTW, they're @ $350. Not much more for a new gun.
Why do you feel the need for a laser on a gun anyway?

Really a light is more important, I just figured a laser would come with it. I can do without a laser.

They used to make a magazine with a flashlight holder on the bottom of the mag.
All of these issues is what led to the rail being built into the gun.
A GEN1 and GEN2 were very hard to deck out with all the tacticool toys that started appearing back then.

A 100+ lumen flashlight, on the other hand, is going to blind an intruder, and light up the room for you...
The only time I see a laser being a plus is on a small BUG. You could shoot from the hip without lining up sights.
Crimson Trace is the ONLY way to go with lasers, BTW.

And never stick the light in your back pocket to free up your non gun hand. Doing that illuminates a perfect target for the bad guy to shoot at.
