agreed....I cringe when he comes on SVP & Russillo. I keep waiting on SVP to say something good about LSU to him....

Generally, American society just gets incrementally more dumbed-down every year, including ESPN. So this makes perfect sense.

Olberman was actually great on ESPN if you remember. Just forget about all his political BS and he's good.

OJ was a great football player as well but that is not how he is remembered.

That giant sucking sound you just heard is droves of non Bama SEC fans turning off ESPN.

yeah, i'm like several others on here. I just do not watch ESPN anymore unless it's a live sporting event, and 90% of the time that is LSU.

ESPN better hope they keep up enough cash in the coffers to hold onto live event content because the rest of their content could suck the chrome off a '57 Chevy. It's beyond me why anyone wastes time watching PTI or the other shows with fabricated shouting matches between talking heads.

I will say there are a few rare exceptions of good content produced with actual expertise. It's rare: Things like the Lolo Jones SEC special or the Todd Maranovich story.

I'll defend PTI. I like it. The key is, those two are usually smart and funny.

The mistake ESPN makes is they want to replicate PTI with every show they do, which is fine, but they fail to identify the premise behind what makes PTI good: It's good because of Kornheiser and Wilbon, not because the format. If you do another show like PTI, but you replace Kornheiser and Wilbon with fricking Skip Bayless and Screaming A. Smith, it's going to suck.

They've yet to realize that. It's the singer, not the song, as young Mick would say.

blech. wasn't there at one time a show called The Experts or something that had folks like these and Jemelle Hill, etc? Wow, the epitome of oxymoronical.

Sometimes when I'm desperate I have watched a little Palmer&Pollack, whatever that show is. At least they refrain from contrived controversy.

I thought the Tennessee game was most important to Bama

It's embarrassing that ESPN has set him up as the SEC representative to the nation.

This whole post was spot on. I know in the grand scheme of things it all comes down to ratings (because ratings generate $), but I'm kind of disheartened that the SEC would agree to putting Finebaum on the SEC Network. It makes me wonder how much power the SEC has over shows on the network.

The only thing I'll give Finebaum is that he is a good interviewer when he wants to be.

Finebaum and a Birmingham Tv Sports Director, Rick Karle, have a huge man crush on Saban. They will do anything to spend time with Saban. In addition, Finebaum hates LSU. His hate for LSU came from a one year position he held at the Shreveport Journal (no longer in print) he was assigned the LSU beat. He hates Louisana and LSU. That combined with his man crush of Saban means he will always talk bad about LSU because they will challenge his belove Nick Saban for wins and. Championships.

Very True - but ole FineSCUM I heard tried to spew that same game in LA & got run out town. That led to his hate for LSU & LA.

I wish everyone would refer to him by his proper name FineSCUM, aka Penis with ears
