Pretty close to bottom of barrel: the loss to Miami OF OHIO. Ugh. Maybe it was 1987? Painful.

That Miami Ohio loss was on the heels of a very emotional win against a highly ranked and heavily favored A&M team the week before. You could chalk that one up to just having a huge let down (i.e. Ole Miss 1997 after the Florida win).
I don't know how you explain UAB, Southern Miss and Colorado State other than we just sucked.
