A second opinion confirmed what initially was diagnosed, so injured New Orleans Saints outside linebacker Victor Butler will have surgery to repaire his torn anterior cruciate ligament Tuesday, a source said Thursday afternoon.

He'll be recovered just in time for our divisional playoff game after the 1st week bye.

This board and the Ingram hate are insufferable.

Agreed.

We can joke about it while making it clean. Wanting Ingram to tear his ACL and shite like that is ridiculous. I hope he rushes for 1000 this season, at least 800, just so people would back off the guy.

I don't give a shite if he went to Bama. Now, the performance on the field is one thing. And he's not been a first round back production wise. I can argue many points to this--he wasn't healthy, the Saints don't run the ball 30 times with one back, the Saints have three very quality NFL RB's, Sean Payton goes with the hot hand more times than not, last year's situation was not easy to overcome (his second year).

If you want to be mad at Ingram, fine. But don't blame him for being a first round pick of the Saints. Blame the Saints for trading up to pick him (However, remember what happened to our RB's the year before? They HAD to do something drastic.) I just can't stand this board's infatuation with being waterheads on this subject.

in theory, but you'd have him taking a roster spot all season I think. I'm still not 100% on the changes they made to IR

exactly. He's never going to put up big numbers, the Saints just distribute the ball around too much.

I'm pissed we lost Butler though. We had horrible luck with injuries at LB last year and you saw what happened, especially early on in the year. Butler was going to be a starter so losing him is pretty big deal. But there actually was some guy on here the other day saying losing him wasn't that big of a deal, because he was a back up in Dallas or something to that effect.

what the hell is up with that?

Nonsense.

Butler was an excellent player.

And now he's dead.

That guy is blowing Smoke. This was a huge blow to our Defense! He was the best OLB we have on our current roster plus he knew the system! hope Wilson, Galette and Rufus can step up their game! I say we will sign someone before camp.

Honestly, I don't know what Butler would have done with the Saints. He was a backup in Dallas that was hurt. The times he came in to replace Ware the OLinemen were probably too worn out from blockin Ware. It gives others a chance to step up now like M Wilson an R Johnson.

no way...that would be pushing the hell out of it. You'd be at about 6 months post op. Would be the freakiest recovery maybe ever.

Nope. 90% would take Trent Richardson any day of the week. Right as Ingram was drafted, my immediate thought was shite, I would rather take Richardson.
