Championship Series Hotel Rooms

For Omaha experts.
Will the price for hotel rooms close to the stadium come down significantly after all the losing team's fans cancel?
Just made a last minute decision to book a flight for the championship series and downtown hotel prices are silly.
Oh, and I booked the flight on points that can be cancelled so its not a jinx.

We have cancellable rooms booked, but are playing the wait-and-see game, too.

Rooms being freed up by fans of teams who are eliminated will be offset by fans (like you) who will be booking rooms once they know their team is in the championship series.

This is what I would do. Make sure you can cancel and keep an eye out on the prices. If they dip, book another room and then cancel the old room

But I do not have any room booked because they are $375.
The question is will prices drop when fans flee Omaha and cancel rooms.

I agree with his assessment and couldn't think of how to say it but I think he nailed it. Just keep an eye out but if you expect a deal at one of the downtown hotels then you should rethink the trip

Not really expecting a deal but just thought logically prices might come down with a bunch of cancellations.
