I just don't see why you would play two 7 inning games when you don't have to.

Forecast is still showing high chance of rain Friday morning/afternoon. That's why.

That's fine. But you don't do that until you actually see what the weather is like Friday.

Yeah I know, but selfish me thinks that two Saturday games are a great idea.

Why would you make the team play a DH on friday and be at the ball park potentially until midnight? Even with a 3pm start for game 1, they wont finish until 11p- 12a. Potentially later than that if they need extra innings. Then they have to show up ready to play again on saturday. Id rather they play two 7 inning games on saturday than two complete on friday. Not to mention there arent a whole lot of fans who may already have tickets to game 1, who can be at the ball park at 3pm or earlier on friday.

For starters, pretty much every coach will tell you that they hate 7 inning games. We did it last year at South Carolina if you remember. Got rained out on Thursday and played a DH on Friday.

If you start at 3 it would take something out of ordinary to play until 11 or 12. Games don't last 4 hours any more, most are played under 3. Something crazy could happen, but something crazy could happen to mess up the 7 inning games also.

Agreed

A lot of season ticket holders want to make game 1 and it isn't easy for a lot of workin' folks to make it to a game on a Friday afternoon.
