Depending on the status of the game tonight, Ortiz is set to play for Boston this evening.

In order to activate him I'll need to drop probably Morneau or Markakis.

I'm leaning towards Morneau at the moment. Thoughts?

I'd lean towards Markakis... Morneau has more offensive potential.

Does Ortiz have 1B eligibility in your league and if you drop Morneau, would you still have a backup first baseman? Are there similar quality OF'ers on the wire? Some things to consider.

So of your entire team those two are your worst players and the droppable ones you have?? Can you post your roster?

Ortiz has only DH eligibility so he'd only be able to play in my UTIL slot.

I've got Matt Carpenter so his versatility leaves me pretty good at 1B, OF, and CI I think.

I tried to package them both as ancillary pieces in bigger trades, but everybody in my league obviously knows that one of my fringe players is going to get dropped here pretty shortly.

at 1B I have Butler, Encarnacion, Morneau, and Carpenter's eligibility.

at OF I have Holliday, Heyward, Craig, Pence, Crisp, and Markakis.

My pitching is a dumpster fire, and I don't carry any extra MI players.

Holy fricking shite. Besides one year, Markakis is one of the most durable players in baseball. You have no idea what you are talking about.

Because as guys age they get less prone to injury. Besides even with out injury, he isn't that productive but you go on with your bad self

He's 29. Not exactly a geriatric in the baseball world.

He's been productive thus far. His per 162 is solid for a 3rd OF

He's gonna hit 15/80/300 and may score 100 runs

SSS

But yes, he could post those types of numbers. .300 is a little ambitious and I doubt he drives in 80 from the lead off spot

Btw, to answer the OP's question, I'd prolly drop carpenter even though his position eligibility (in the yahoo game) is very attractive
