I have the opportunity to pick up a brand spanking new SCAR17 for 90% msrp (still a lot for a rifle).
I see it as a great SHTF rifle but the ammo ain't cheap. What says the OB?
Also, anyone with hands on experience with their SLP?

It's 308 dude. Any 308 deer hunting round can be used, even if it is expensive. The caliber is very readily available.

EDIT: Let me specify what I mean with this statement. 308 may be expensive but I don't ever see it selling out entirely. 5.56 and 7.62x39 are dedicated "assault"( ) rifle calibers. Those will be bought up for a while and 308 will still be available, even if it's expensive.

Of the best 308 battle rifles out there, the SCAR 17S is right up there with the best. I would go ahead and get it.

What are you waiting for!?
