You can make one change.

What is it? It can be anything that could potentially be done in the short term
I'd like to see Dempsey out left.
I'd like to see Dempsey out left.

It's not a change that anyone can make...However, I really would like an emotional leader to step up. I sound like a broken record with this. But, it drives me nuts.

We need a vocal leader on the pitch, someone to rally the troops and keep people's heads up.

I don't know how much of a locker room presence Landon Donovan had, but he was always someone who put his big boy pants on when things weren't going well, see: Slovenia.

What the actual frick. Are you god damned retarded? That is a rhetorical question.
To answer the question, put players in their natural positions, ie wingers on the wing, not central midfielders.

There are those instances. I don't think he has ever been a GREAT locker room presence. His personality has been very finicky. He was quick to give the LAG armband to Beckham. I'd like to hear what other people have to say about his leadership. It'd be an interesting topic. IMO.

He leads on the field by example.

Are we living in some alternate universe where Clint Dempsey has never played out left? frick, he'd play there for Spurs if monkey man didn't exist. He plays inverted, obviously, but I feel like that's his best position, which segues nicely into this:

Get Brek Shea on the field ASAP

I would be ok with more of Shea, once he gets to match fitness. We need wingers. This team is so narrow and we aren't barcelona so narrow doesn't work.
Dempsey scored our only goal today with a fantastic finish, in case you didn't get to see the game.

Like you said, we miss his width. That's for sure. (TWSS)

Cakes on the pitch. This is the only option.

Short term change: Real Width
But I'm very very very close to #KlinsmannOut

Hendo was right about Klinsmann. He is not a tactican. Low was the man with the plan.

Put our best player Freddy Adu on the team.

Teach the midfield and defenders how to fricking press.
