PS3 Digital Optical Output

Long story short, PS/3 went out a while back. Sent for repair.
PS/3 now works. But D.O.O. does not. No sound comes from my A/V receiver when PS/3 is on. Tried swapping cables - didn't matter. Tried swapping input sources on A/V receiver - didn't matter.
Any suggestions other than sending it back in? My fault, because I let the 90 day warranty expire - this is only the 2nd time I have used it in the past 5 or 6 months.

Make sure the PS3 is set to output from the optical. If it isn't, you won't get sound. Also, make sure your receiver is set to output that optical port on the same a/v setting as the video. After that, I got nothing.

Go to audio settings and ensure you set it up
