Any change Coach Payton breaks his silence?

In all likelihood, Coach Payton is probably going to want to put all this behind him and move forward. He probably wont even field questions about the bounty.

That being said, I find his statements very interesting. Everything he has released to the press has sounded very metered and "lawyerly". Contrast that with Joe Vitt's public statements. I refuse to believe that those two guys are of that big of a difference of opinion on Goodell's treatment.

Do you think his agent/attorney is advising him to keep his mouth shut? Any chance he breaks his silence and speaks his mind on how he really feels?

Payton doesn't have a deSmith or union fighting for him. He wants to coach--that's the deal. So he has the make the lawyerly statement. That way, it sounds like he "confessed," even though he did no such thing.

actions speak louder than words. hope he runs the score up on everyone, gives no shits, and wins the superbowl.

I believe his common sense is telling him.

See above answer. And NO. Not till he's retired for good.

Payton learned his lesson. Part of the inspiration for him and the Saints being the scapegoat was because he has shown Goodell up on the past, and then he bragged about it in the book. That'll teach him to STFU.

God I hope not. He should stay dead silent in the media until next season starts.

I believe a mid-day press conference is scheduled for WED so we shall see.

NFL Network reported last night press conference at 12:30 EST. They will carry it live.

My money is on SP keeping it straight. He'll save his savagery of Goodell/NFL for his book when he retires (or being a "source" for someone writing a book on "Bountygate")
