I make a frame and hang them from chains.

Shooting steel is fun as hell.

You have no idea how fast you'll be wasting rounds shooting steel. It's addicting

I love shooting at my little 22 targets. I can imagine with my 357 would be fun.

Can't see any deer to shoot, so steel will die

Man I wish I had hit that coon with my 1911. He was staring at me and I drew it instead of waiting for him to look away again. It would've been my first living kill with my 45.

Edit: didn't realize this isn't the IST thread. A coon was thinking about climbing up my tripod until I sent a 45 by his cranium.

Yall are giving me the bug to shoot. Has anyone ever been to the range at Woodworth? Ive never been and dont know whats required. I always shoot at my parents house, my land, or my brothers house, but it would be nice to go to a range. I assume you just need to bring some paper targets to tac up but not sure what a range set up is.

Infidel was talking about a range in Shreveport area that has steel targets at rifle ranges. 150,200, 250 and so on.

Im going to be looking in the bushes for some discs. That would be easy to build. And you could take a piece of rebarb and bend it to a 90 angle or a little less and just tack a link of chain on the end or a hook. Then drill a hole in each dics to hang with a chain.

I'm thinking just hand it from a tree with hay string or chain, whatever is around.

I think the disk I have has a big hole in the middle. Will have to look at them.

Here's a MS Paint diagram of the targets my Dad used to make. Materials are cheap so you won't feel so bad after you shoot the shite out of them. Plus they're long enough to hang large silhouettes or multiple round targets on them.

You can modify these to fit your needs, size wise. This is just a rough diagram of how I remember him making them.

Nice Cdaniels

All of them should. I was just thinking if you drilled a hole in the top it would hang straight.

What I meant was the disk I have, the hole is larger than most I've seen. Like 5" or so. So I will either need to weld something over it or not aim for the center.

Or aim for the center since I probably won't hit where I aim

For my birthday this year my kids made me some targets out of some left over styrofoam, shiney wrapping paper, and some shoot and see ring targets.
