the drive and determination he has is what made the difference of him being a a high risk homerun versus a strikeout. This aspect of talent evaluation is prolly what we as fans have the least insight to. You can see game highlights and combine results. When the Saints players talk about having a great locker room and the comraderie necessary to win is where this comes into play.

Taking those kinda risks and hitting it big is a tremendous boon. Ya just gotta be wise and avoid the strikeouts. Carl Nicks was a late 2nd Rd talent we got in the 5th Rd mainly cuz of character concerns. He ended up great.

CB Janoris Jenkins was prolly the headline name in that category last year. If not kicked off the Florida team and having a good record he might have challenged Claiborne for the top CB picked. The Rams got him at #39 in the 2nd Rd instead- looking great so far.

Dez Bryant went #24 instead of higher for the same thing. Very talented even at the NFL level but you have seen the boys have had to deal with his lackings in the intangibles.

To be clear, there was not a question about Graham's intangibles. I think it was these same strengths mentioned in the story that made taking a risk on his very limited experience a full go.

Sorry to make anyone miss class reading. This is just such a key issue that many fans don't get... Go after Haynesworth! The past 7 seasons have shown us we can trust the decisions the FO makes in who or who not to bring in or draft when it comes to character risk.

If there is one complaint I have about Jimmy it's that he doesn't attack the football with his hands. He waits for it to get to him with this sort of weird T-Rex arm stance...that allows passes to get broken up. I would like to see him be more aggressive attacking the ball. Am I the only one who sees this?

and that is the point about understanding how raw he was. The kid is playing at the highest level of competition with a sum total of 3 years experience in the sport all together. As good as he is he does have more upside to go.

Bonus pick- Even rawer Hicks looks like he could have the same big bust out potential. They're bringing him along steadily. He was up to 48% of the snaps last week. Multiply his impact as his performance increases then double the snaps next year and it could be similar to Graham from 2010 to 2011 (31 to 99 catches).

Yes I see this too. Graham needs to be more aggressive running his routes and breaking tackles also He falls down as soon az he's touched. Hopefully just a sophamore slump. He has all star potential but not producing at that level this year.
