Northern Illinois is better than the ULM team that beat Arkansas and took Auburn to OT and they're better than the Western Kentucky team that beat Kentucky.

They also barely beat the Kent State team that Kentucky destroyed.

Kentucky is the worst team in the SEC.

Kentucky beat the shite out of Kent State by 35 points.

Northern Illinois needed OT to beat Kent State.

At this point of the season, NIU would be favored vs. Auburn and Kentucky by small margins.

The only reference point is Kent St getting pwned by Kentucky.

If you went solely by that they'd be favored over 0 SEC teams

If FSU is worse than Iowa, then thank god they didn't beat Florida and complain about getting a title shot.

Probably all of them.

Kent State's only prior loss was to Kentucky and that was by 33 and NIU had to take Kent State to OT to beat them.

NIU vs any SEC school would have the potential to get really ugly.

Stuff like this doesn't work in football. That was clearly an outlying game for both teams. Kent State would be favored over Kentucky, probably by ~12, if they played again.

I realize it doesn't work to determine who is actually a better football team.

That is just my opinion that any SEC vs. NIU could get ugly. I certainly think every school could beat them. Then again, thats why they play, we will see how the fare against FSU.

I also don't think they would be a 12+ point favorite against UK.
