I'm not sure why he would accept it, he can possibly get better offer when the carousel starts. I think he would do a decent job, but Purdue has talent, always has.

This would be an interesting hire. Seems like a lateral move to me, to be honest, but I guess with the Big East imploding I could be wrong.

Purdue underachieved big time this year.

Fan base doesn't really care for him. They think he mailed it in and stayed about five years too long.

Would Purdue make a run for Broc Spaek? He's at ILSU they're in playoffs, finished second in nations toughest FCS conference, played and coached at Purdue.

I agree. I don't think he will take it.

This is the definition of a lateral move for a coach. The last Cinci coach got a job at Notre Dame and their resumes are nearly identical. I think Jones is going to wait for a bit.

The Indianapolis Star is now reporting that the offer has been made, but no comment by Jones.

Woody Paige article

He is reporting that Colorado is Jones' job, if he wants it. That makes no sense. That would definitely be step back

If he really does interview after withdrawing from UK, he deserves to lose for years.

A middling Big East job is probably on par with a lower-tier Pac 12 job these days, given that the Pac 12 has a huge TV contract and access to California for recruiting.

That's provided that the school is willing to work with Davis in a way that Dan Hawkins and Jon Embree likely didn't get with regards to recruiting.

Reported that the offer 15 mill for 6 years fully guaranteed. This is huge for CU I think. They are trying to make a commitment and probably make Bill irrelevant in the program.

The problem is, it's not just the school, but the whole culture in Colorado.

Whoever the new coach in Colorado is, he'll have to approach the revival of the program the way Dale Brown did for reviving LSU basketball.

Dale toured the state, handed out purple and gold LSU basketballs, made face-to-face contacts with every high school coach, talked to anyone that would listen. All to get LSU basketball on the radar of Louisiana recruits.

Because at that time Louisiana Tech was the basketball power, and no recruit considered LSU except as a last resort.

That's pretty much the situation in Colorado now. High school football gets little to no community support, and any player serious about football goes out of state to play.
