Is that in San Antonio? I know my uncle is going to that one with a few friends. I'm jealous though

A buddy of mine is going and I thought about going, but I'm just not that big of a Rush fan...

Sure, I'd like to see them to be able to say I saw them, but I don't think I will go out of my way.

I used to LOVE classic rock, but these days I can only stomach so much of it at a time.

I am a huge fan of many of their works, but probably wouldn't pay a lot to see them live now. It's not the same experience.

Rush has continued putting out music, it isn't all their classic stuff, but haven't gotten into anything the produced in the past 20 years.

I went to this show (not the location, the tour) in the early 80's. Great stuff

Xanadu

Epitomized the 70's. Watch the doc. Beyond the lighted stage and it will create a favorable impression. Great stuff.

The first lead singer for Rush was a black guy who went on to sing gospel music.

I guess I really shouldn't be jealous. After all, I got to see them in 1975 at the San Diego Civic Theater from the 4th row. They were the opening act for KISS. They had just recently released their 2nd album, Fly By Night.

That first lead singer was in the band for a couple of weeks.

Yeah, they never did anything when he was with them, just thought it was funny. He was with them a quarter of a year or so and later joined Red Ryder.

Wow, I found this review of the concert you want to in 1975. Do you remember KISS nailing Rush with cream pies?

KISS/Rush review

great video of parts of the concert at the end.

Wow, thanks for posting that article! It brings back a lot of memories. I was pretty blitzed at the concert, and I really don't remember the cream pie thing so much oddly enough. I may have raced to the concession stand in anticipation of KISS hitting the stage, but I don't remember if I did or not. The concert was great, and everything that the writer described! I am going to watch the video clip now to see if I can find myself in it.

ETA: The concert was the day after I turned 19.

The show was pretty awesome last night! Started at 7:30 and didn't end until about 10:45 with only maybe a 10-15 min intermission. First set played all old stuff, after intermission they played the entire new album then went back into some old stuff finishing with Tom Sawyer and 2112. Great show, place was packed. Peart did 3 drum solos and was amazing!!

I must admit - the new stuff wasn't bad at all!
