Entry wound is right behind the left shoulder. His shoulder is raised a tad in the pic so you can't see it. No exit so he bled a frick ton internally, wasn't a fun gut. He was a smaller bodied deer though.

I shoot a Remington Model 7 .243
Lightweight, shorter barrel, shoots flat and accurate but isn't ideal for those 200+ yd shots. Has trouble exiting when quartering away though. I don't hunt fields much unless I wanna pop a doe so it gets the job done where I hunt. And I love it so that's all that matters. Gotta love your gun.

Congrats. Looks like a two year old buck. Woulda definitely been a nice one next year if he coulda survived the rest of the season.
