2. Playoff speculation may be premature
That the Saints have reached the break-even mark is a remarkable achievement, given that they buried themselves in a deep hole early in the season. They are only the sixth team to start 0-4 and then pull to .500 or better after 10 games, according to the NFL. The turnaround has the Who Dat Nation feeling downright giddy. So giddy that some fans on team message boards are predicting that New Orleans could run the table in the final six weeks of the regular season.
We hate to throw cold water on those thoughts, but the Saints still face a steep climb. Right now, they are the ninth-best team in the NFC, meaning that they would have to leap over three 6-4 teams -- Minnesota, Tampa Bay and Seattle -- to claim the sixth and final playoff spot in the conference.

The Saints already have a win over Tampa & the next meeting is at home so they can take that comment & shove it.

Does the media really believe Seattle & Minnesota won't drop some down the stretch with inexperienced QB's leading those ball clubs once the pressure to be perfect every game really gets turned up? Both of those teams have played above their heads so far this season & I wouldn't be surprised to see them begin to drop a few games.

I think its really sad that writers, who are "suppose" to be knowledgeable of the game would be quick to hype teams led by inexperienced QB's over veteran team led by a future Hall of Fame QB in a late season playoff run.

I just think Seattle is gonna be a bitch to overcome. They need to drop some games.

I can't disagree. All it says is:

-Too early for playoff speculation.
- Saints have made huge strides.
-Saints are still only .500 due to the early season hole they dug themselves.
- There are still three teams to jump at this point to get to the sixth spot.

Yes there is still football to play and we are getting hot, but there's still a long way to go. Saints need to just do their job.

How come no reporters talk about losing our coach...they'll talk about the losses but not the full story of the coach being out.

I think it could happen if they didn't play every game at home.

Well, they play 3 out of six on the road.
@ Miami
@ Chicago
@ buffalo

They are bad on the road. So even though Miami and Buffalo would be almost sure wins at home, they might be trouble for them on the road. Plus Cutler will be back. So they could lose two of those.

Then they get 49ers, Arizona and St. Louis at home.

They could easily go 3-3 with that schedule.

I kinda wonder if the bears might struggle the rest of the way. Their early schedule wasn't very impressive and they have some tough games ahead of them.

I'm not saying we will catch them, but they aren't a lock for the playoffs either.
