the overall aggressive game was awesome. and hey look! IT WORKED! but then we slide back into pussy ball and lose

All you've got here is a thinly- veiled "Miles hate" thread. And you're not even doing a good job of disguising it. Come up with a thought that makes it appear you want honest conversation then simply wail away at any and every notion that Miles is a good coach. Getting old bro. You need new material.

We should have won this game by two or three touchdowns the way we dominated BAMA. The fact that we LOST says all that needs to be said.

frick that!! The bounces didn't go our way last night but Coach did nothing but leave it all on the field last night along with the players. I can't be mad at him for that. He had this team prepared and they played a hell of a game. We showed MASSIVE improvement last night.

I hated many coaching decisions yesterday, especially our last offensive possesion, but am I the only one who sees the contradiction here ?

it's just mind-numbing that he's still coaching scared AND that he makes such stupid playcalls so often. there has to be a way to get him to stop doing both short of firing him
I agree that firing Les Miles would be somewhere south of optimal. At the same time, I agree he coaches scared at times (like the Prevent/soft defense he threw up at Bama in the last 90 seconds and let them score - like forcing that stupid 54 yard fg attempt instead of punting to pin them down deep). But then he had just wasted a chance at 3 from a lot closer in with a doomed fake. So some of the posters along here say he coached opposite of scared last night.

I say both sides are right. I think this is a bi-polar coach, who coaches in two tracks at once and never knows which track to take or which one he has been in.

What I'd like to see A.D. Aleva do is lay down the law.
1) A real and credible OC hire this year (start looking right now). If that means Stud and Krag go, then they go.
2) Agree to serve primarily as HC/Recruting Head, relinquishing game day play by play coaching to the OC/DC.
3) Take real steps to upgrade the player development program for skill players (like receivers and QBs), with results that can be measured and seen on the field during gametime. If that means firing some and hiring other staff to achieve this goal, then do it.

Unless something like this is mandated from above and backed by the LSU administration and TAF, Les Miles will continue to coach the way he has. And LSU will see great talent wasted and golden opportunities like last night (and 1/9) squandered on a regular basis.

And you've admitted that you we didn't play that way last night. So why start this thread today?

last night provided plenty of fresh new material

fake fgs for no other reason then to be known as this wacky gambler on ESPN shows, 54 yard FG attempts with a shite kicker, prevent defense at the end of both halfs to cost the game, toss dives to set up a practically meaningless FG instead of just trying to win, back to back short side options with an immobile QB, QB sneaks with 2 yards to go, digging out his ear wax on camera, etc etc.

we ended the game playing that way and lost all the advantages the prior aggressive play delivered

but there is no mistake that miles made a bunch of bone-headed calls in critical situations

There's a difference between aggressiveness and boneheadedness, last night we got the latter.

You're fricking joking with this right? You know there is a camera trained on him the entire fricking game waiting for him to do something like that.

but let's be fair. it's miles fault that this stupid persona has developed. when it makes him look bad, you can't sit back and argue it's wrong

frick that. No coach get repeatedly shite on by the media more than Miles. It's like they are going out of their way to make him look buffoonish.

I like Les, but I definitely don't like many a plays that were called last night. Our team played with passion and the crowd looked very hyped--our coaches were out coached!

nobody forces miles to do shite like eat grass on the sidelines

it's because of the persona he's developed. George W Bush syndrome. if you present yourself as not well kept and stupid, then people are naturally going to describe you as stupid and all over the place

He actually doesn't mis-use words. But hey, you pretend to be smarter than everyone else, you should already know that.

The other shite is pretty minor stuff that gets played up by the media. For some reason, the only people in the national media that like Miles are Rusillo and SVP. All the rest of them shite on him, because they think they're smarter than he is and he proves them wrong more often than not.
