Ford or Hill - who's faster

If they're about the same, which I'd say is the case after that 50 yd sprint, will we start sending Hill around the edge since that's pretty much all we use Ford for?

I would say Ford is faster.

I would say Ford but not by much. Ford is lightning quick getting to the edge and making the turn.
Hill seems to be better finding seams and breaking through quickly.
He's fast in his own right.
Glad we have both.

Ford is our fastest back. Hill has patience and great vision from what I've seen. Hill isn't slow by any means, but ford has break away speed

Honestly don't know but my initial observation:
Quick acceleration (burst speed) - Ford
Open field sprint - Hill
Either way, the loss of Alfred Blue has been answered.

Ford. How that relates to in game football speed is debatable. Ford has several plays that are run to utilize his speed, thus far, Hill has had some, but runs just as many power plays.

Definitely Ford quicker first step, but once Hill gets rollin He can go step for step I'm sure. Not many running backs out run defensive backs the way Hill did for that TD. I was thinking they'd catch him after about 20 yards, it was awesome watching him pull away.

Ford by a lot.
But, Hill has running skills in traffic that Ford does not.

I would tend to agree with this, but there was 5 minutes left in the game and LSU had been mauling their D to that point. I'm not sure if their DBs were at their top chasing speed at that point in the game.

Ford is probably faster but Hill plays within the design of the play and runs through the hole that the o-line opens up for him. Ford to often tries to run past the hole and ends up getting stopped. For every 15-20 yard run that Ford has when he breaks the called play and does not take the 5-6 yards given to him he loses 2 yards 4 times. I would rather 3-6 yard gains 5 times than 1 20 yard gain and -8 yards on 4 other runs. Just because a back could break a run on every other play in high school does not mean that he can do this against a college defense much less an SEC defense.

Ford has power/speed/quickness but IMO he lacks vision. He can turn that corner an not lose a step which is a hard thing to train a player to do it's more god given. I find this very impressive and unique in our back field.
Hill reminds me of Justin Vincent his freshman year. Physical/SAQ/vision which is the most impressive to me for a freshman. Blue and Hill are the most complete backs we have and give us the variety in the back field.
