Why the frick didnt the front off hire anyone to be the interim coach? I mean the fricking o line coach who is a peer? What a total cluster frick.

mike lombardi went off on this during the bill simmons podcast. basically saying you need someone to definitively be in charge, and the saints season was doomed when the parcells deal didn't materialize.

A. No one has been here before, it's new territory.
B. They didn't need someone fricking up SP's system. Thinking long-term here.
C. We've got a new DC with a new system. We see how that's worked out, although they played better today. You can't just bring in a new HC with an existing staff with differing philosophies and expect it to work.
Bottom line--we need SP. Period. /thread.

Yea, Parcells woulda saved us.
The guy who hasn't had a playoff win since the 90s. That's not a typo, the 90s, THAT is the guy who would have made the difference LOL.

You guys have no clue. No one is there to lead this team, doesn't matter who it is but two interim coaches ain't it. You need some sort of CEO. I know defense is bad but it should never have gotten to this point with a smart decision by the front office.

This was crazy uncharted territory. No one has ever had anything close to these penalties and suspensions. We will get a little energy boost when Vitt comes back. He is more of a HC. His press conferences were good and he has a good presence. I think the FO was hoping Kromer could just manage an ok record till Vitt got back.

it's not that anyone needed to mess w/ SP's scheme, or screw w/ Spag's new defense -- it's that someone needs to be in charge full time to run the organization. Parcells was an option because, as was stated earlier, no one has been in this situation before. only a retired coach could really fit the bill since SP is clearly coming back, and the 2 have a connection.
