I am paraphrasing but a rep, George Atallah, just said on ESPN there is no connection from Williams' speeches to what was seen on the field. Glad someone besides us sees this angle. The NFL rep is on now for anyone that cares to watch.

Anyone who cares to objectively look at all the facts knows this. I'm glad someone is saying it to the media though. I'm not sure how much play it'll get.

Jeff Pash represented the NFL side and said what we've already heard accusing the NFLPA of being more worried about protecting the Saints than the "victims". He didn't specify who the victims were and I'm still curious about that.

He also said that Vilma requested a meeting with Goodell after the investigation started but when they contacted him to arrange it he backed out.

(Matt Hasselback also reinforced the statement that the video of the 49ers game doesn't match the speech)

So why again is Payton suspended for a fricking year?

He was not in the defense's locker room, and obviously did NOT see any evidence in games of players trying to injure other players.

I can see where he felt like it wasn't that big of a deal, since the players were NOT doing what Nutcase Williams was spouting off about in the locker room.

He is still responsible and should have made Williams STFU or GTFO, but an entire year??
