The Detroit Red Wings equaled an NHL record with their 20th straight win at home, beating the Philadelphia Flyers 4-3 Sunday night on the strength of Johan Franzen’s tiebreaking goal early in the third period.

Has only happened twice previously. 1929-30 Bruins and 1976 Flyers. Detroit can set the new record Tuesday against the Dallas Stars.

Wing Nuts, go crazy!

Could maybe have Howard back in net by Sunday. Not that Mac has been a slouch.

Don't know if shootouts should necessarily count toward win totals. It's not as though they've been around forever.

Still have to play well enough to make it to the shootout.

This latest win was an urgent come-from-behind win at that. Joey McDonald had a few hiccups in goal for Detroit but the Wheeled Wing Machine kept grinding it out to get the win.

Now if Vancouver would just go on a prolonged slump we could wrap the #1 seed up

How many of those were shootout wins?

Without shootouts (four of them), the streak would've stopped at 13. Finding ways to get points is still impressive, though.

That should be easy then. The Dallas Stars play like the Dallas Cowboys--start the season strong, fade at the end. Gaglardi should go ahead and admit that he plans to relocate the Stars to Seattle.
