Why is there hope for you guys in the near future? Not flaming, just curious. Especially if you join the Rangers in the AL West.

I just wanted to know what we are dealing with if you guys crossover. How is the ownership situation?

Selig is basically holding Crane hostage until he agrees to the AL move. So in other words.....not going well.

2011 Texas Rangers 96 66 .593
2010 Texas Rangers 90 72 .556
2009 Texas Rangers 87 75 .537
2008 Texas Rangers 79 83 .488
2007 Texas Rangers 75 87 .463
2006 Texas Rangers 80 82 .494
2005 Texas Rangers 79 83 .488

Even bad teams get better, and good teams have bad times, as evidenced by the Stros recent run of bad after a sustained run of good in the late 90s early 2000s.

$$$ and a great front office will do wonders for a franchise. Hopefully once the sale is approved, the Astros will have both.

We're going to suck balls.

Three years, 300 losses. I bet my buddy 5 grand that the Astros would lose 300 in three seasons.

One year in: 106 games

Haha believe me I know we are going to be bad. As they noted in the ESPN season preview last year - "turbo bad".

I just don't see why the OP said "especially joining the Rangers in the AL West". The last time the Rangers had a good run in '96-'99, finishing 1st 3 out of 4 years, they followed it up with 4th, 4th, 4th, 4th, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 4th, 2nd, 2nd, 1st and 1st.

I know the Stros are currently terrible, but forgive me if that doesn't scare me at all. They aren't the Yankees or anything.

Crane is going to build up the farm system, hopefully they will follow the Twins and Rays plan.

I already clarified this statement. It wasn't poking fun at the Astros I was just wondering about their current state of the franchise and what we are dealing with. I wasn't tooting the Rangers horn by any means.

The farm system has been completely restocked and the guys Wade has drafted have started making their way to the bigs because they had no one from Pupura's era to block them. JD Martinez, Jose Altuve and Jason Castro are a core of young, cheap, talented players that get us moving in the right direction.
