Kayak Question

What do you fishermen recommend? The cockpit or the sit on-top kayak?

It depends on what you want to do with it. I have both. I built a sit-inside kayak about ten years ago and it is awesome for touring, but is fairly limited otherwise. My sit-on-top is a great fishing machine, and while not as fast as my sea-kayak, it's much more versatile and easier to get in and out of. That's what I use 95% of the time.

The yak'ers on this board have both types. I'm going with the sit on top for my purchase. Just seems to be easier to move around on the water.

Sit on top for fishing, no doubt.

I was worried we wouldn't have one.
I have s it in that I fish out of and am happy with but I have never tried a sit on so I don't know what I'm missing.

To the OP like Diesel, I have a sit in 10' BPS Ascend FS10. Love it.

I just googled this and I really like it, where did you get it and how much did you pay.

I just got a Jackson Coosa kayak & it has an adjustable/removable beach chair style seat for sit-in or up-top. I highly recommend it.
But like others have said, it really comes down to what style of fishing you're going to be doing. If you're going to get up/down a lot.
Try out a couple before you purchase. Best advice anyone on here can give. Each kayak is different for each person. Find the best for you. Good luck.

Sit in's are just about worthless for fishing, go with a sit on top with storage space
