I just got a 3d tv, and it is better than I expected.

I never really wanted a 3d tv, but I was looking for certain other requirements (1080P, at least 120 Hz, LED, etc.). I found a really good deal:
Sony Bravia HD 3D Tv with all of my requirements, that came with 2 pairs of glasses and a Playstation 3, all for $1,050.
Since most 120 Hz 46" LED tv's are that price or higher, I didn't feel like I was paying for the 3d so I pulled the trigger.
I'm surprised how much I have enjoyed the 3d aspect. I never cared for 3d at the theater, but this gets away from the campy jump out of the screen 3d and just gives some depth to the picture. It even converts regular 2d tv to 3d. The converted material is not as good as real 3d formatted media, but does better than I expected.
My kids love it also, especially since most of the 3d movies available are kid's movies.

It's a great looking tv in 2d or 3d.

What type of glasses does it come with? Do they require batteries?

Got espn 3D?
No, my cable company doesn't carry it yet. My only 3d content is movies for now. Like I said, the 3d option was not a big selling point for me, but just a bonus that I'm enjoying more than expected.

They do require batteries, but are supposed to have 1,000 hour battery life and we don't use them all the time.

Wait....so you got the 46" LED Sony 120 Hz TV with 2 pairs of glasses and a PS3?!?!?!?!
That is an amazing deal.

Yeah, Sam's club now has an auction section on their website. I had looked at this tv about a month before and just the tv was $1,498. I liked it and came close to buying it and just ignoring the 3d because I didn't want to pay $200 each for glasses.
I stumbled across the auction site and jokingly put $1,100 on the package deal. I got outbid once or twice, but kept trying on other auctions. Finally, I moved my max bid up to $1,250 but won it at $1,050.

Nevermind...looks like it will be a while for the glasses-less 3d tv...

I was about to come in and call you an idiot for buying it for 2 grand+, but you got it for $1000 and a PS3? Good deal.
